The relationship between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys took a wild turn on Friday as the defensive superstar claimed he wants out of Big D.

“The relationship between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures, which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team,” according to a league source familiar with the situation, sources informed Athletic NFL insider Dianna Russini. “The two sides remain far apart heading into the second week of training camp and are not currently negotiating.”

Those rumors became a reality on Friday afternoon when he took to his social media account to release a lengthy statement to explain the deteriorating relationship, from his perspective, and why he “no longer wants to be here.”

If things truly are unfixable and Dallas actually does decide to trade him in the next few weeks, let’s look at four teams that could pursue the four-time Pro Bowler and potentially ink him to a new long-term pact.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are hopeful that 2025 will be the year reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen can lead them back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1994. Adding Parsons would certainly elevate them even more and potentially make them the new favorites in the AFC. Furthermore, outside of Allen, Buffalo does not have a ton of money invested elsewhere. They have the desperation and the means to make a trade and give him the contract he is looking for.

Miami Dolphins

If the Cowboys did trade Parsons — big if — they would aim to send him to an AFC team. That is why the Miami Dolphins are another intriguing option. Miami is just as desperate as Buffalo to get back to a Super Bowl, with their big game drought even longer (1985) than their division rivals. The big issue is the money in a deal. However, with rumblings all year that Tyreek Hill may have worn out his welcome, maybe a three-team swap that moves his money so they can add and extend Parsons is a possibility.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a lot of NFL analysts’ sleeper pick to reach the Super Bowl from the NFC this season. Adding the Dallas superstar would make them the favorite in the minds of many. The money is the biggest issue. But Tampa has shown a willingness to make bold moves if they believe it could get them a championship. And if the ‘Boys did move him inside the conference, a team outside the division, and not the Packers or 49ers, would be preferred.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are a good team, but they certainly need more to elevate them into being a Super Bowl contender. Micah Parsons would certainly fit the bill, and the combo of him and Justin Herbert as the faces of the franchise in LA could make them the most popular team in the city. If Dallas was willing to take Khalil Mack back in the deal, or the Chargers parting with Derwin James, could get a deal done.

Micah Parsons trade prediction

It would be absolutely shocking if the Dallas Cowboys traded Micah Parsons. Things are getting ugly, but this isn’t the first time Jerry Jones has had difficult negotiations with a top star. The elite EDGE will stay in Dallas long-term. However, if the unthinkable happened, the Buffalo Bills would be the favorites to get him.
