The Miami Dolphins (5-2) are feeling it in more ways than one following their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday night.

More so than not being able to come out against the defending Super Bowl runner-ups, Miami is feeling this in its most-recent injury report.

Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill (hip) and running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) missed practice on Wednesday. Both are now questionable to go Sunday against the division-rival New England Patriots.

When asked whether he believes Hill will miss Sunday’s matchup with New England, Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle answered “that’s above my pay grade.” Meanwhile, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport suggested that it’s a real possibility.

Obviously, this is no small thing for the first-place Dolphins.

Hill has put up 53 receptions for 902 yards and seven touchdowns in as many games this season. The All-Pro is currently on pace to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season NFL record for receiving yards with 2,190.

As for Mostert, he’s gained 625 total yards and a league-leading 11 touchdowns through seven weeks. He’s taken over a bulk of the touches for Miami with star running back De’Von Achane currently on injured reserve.

If Mostert is unable to go against New England, Jeff Wilson will be promoted to RB1. He returned from a season-long absence this past Sunday, touching the ball one time while playing just seven snaps on offense. The veteran performed well after being acquired from the San Francisco 49ers last season, tallying 486 total yards and four touchdowns in eight games with the Fins.

As for a potential Tyreek Hill absence, the aforementioned Waddle will be tasked with stepping up. He was in and out of last week’s game with a back injury and has struggled in comparison to last season. The former first-round pick tallied 75 receptions for 1,356 yards in 2022. Thus far this season, he’s put up 359 yards in six games. Waddle also missed a week earlier this season with a concussion.

We will obviously have updates on the status of both Miami Dolphins stars when they become available. For now, this isn’t great news for head coach Mike McDaniel and Co.
