A top NFL Draft expert believes the Los Angeles Rams will use their top pick in next month’s event on the player who is the real best wide receiver in this year’s class.

The Rams are so close to getting their next NFL championship. After a quick retool in 2022, LA has been one of the best teams in the NFC the last three seasons and reached the conference title game earlier this year. Unfortunately, for as good as the 12-5 team was, they came up just short of the eventual-champion Seattle Seahawks.

From the outset of the offseason, the Rams have shown they are all-in on winning it all next season, and proved that when they gave up one of their two first-round picks this year to land All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie. The selection held on to the better of the two, and that is at 13th overall.

The Rams don’t have a lot of obvious weaknesses, so the franchise can take the best player available or think about going after a youngster who can replace one of their aging impact players. Well, it looks like they could do both, according to ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper.

LA Rams to use pick at 13 on Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson?

In his newest mock draft, he predicts the Rams will use their pick at No. 13 on Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. Interestingly enough, Kiper claims Tyson has a similar skillset to a 33-year-old Rams star who is in the final year of his contract.

“Tyson is almost always available to the football, making tough plays in tight coverage. He plays the game a lot like Davante Adams,” he wrote.

Yet it isn’t the most fascinating part about the draft guru’s thoughts on Tyson. While players like Ohio State’s Carnell Tate and USC’s Makai Lemon are often called the top two receivers in this year’s class, Kiper wrote, “if not for some durability concerns, Tyson would probably be the top receiver in the class.”

The junior was limited to just nine games in 2025. However, in his sophomore season, the Sun Devils star reeled in 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns, and averaged 14.7 yards per catch.
