Even though the Philadelphia Eagles continue throwing support behind him, the A.J. Brown trade rumors won’t go away. Recently, they even involved the Los Angeles Rams, who had reportedly been interested in acquiring the three-time Pro Bowl receiver.

Yet, if the Rams had added Brown into a mix that also already includes Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, would there have been enough targets to go around in L.A.? Apparently, the Rams considered that too.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Rams considered trading Adams in the event that they would have traded for Brown.

“Per a league source, the Rams — while talking about a possible trade for Brown — were pursuing the possibility of trading Adams.”

Considering Brown is set to make $29 million in 2026, and Adams is set to earn $24 million, keeping Nacua, who’s surely on track to become the NFL’s highest-paid receiver, it’s no surprise they wouldn’t have wanted to make such a significant financial commitment to the receiver position. Plus, Adams is 33, compared to Brown, who’s just 28.

While the Rams had been considering a trade for Brown, that no longer appears to be the case, as they were likely hoping to get a deal done by today.

“The Rams presumably were hoping to get a deal done by today, when a fully-guaranteed $6 million roster bonus came due. And the payment of the bonus likely means they’ll keep Adams and his $18 million base salary.”

Whether the Eagles are still trying to trade Brown remains to be seen. Yet, they may have scared teams away by setting too high of an asking price for the six-time 1,000-yard receiver.
