There’s renewed excitement in the air for Los Angeles Chargers fans, and it’s not just because there’s football in the air again. While Jim Harbaugh returns for his third season as head coach, the offense is now getting an overhaul as offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel takes control.
But do the Chargers have enough weaponry to fully take advantage of McDaniel’s advanced offensive mind? It sounds like the Bolts are still open to adding more talent in their receiver room.

According to general manager Joe Hortiz, via the Up & Adams show, the Chargers are keeping the door open for the potential return of six-time Pro Bowl receiver Keenan Allen, who remains unsigned in free agency.
“Right now we’re in a spot where we’re looking at the roster and we’re letting these young guys get a chance,” Hortiz said. “I’ve had some communications with Keenan’s representation and we talk. Right now, the guys that we have here, we’re letting them grow and develop. Nothing but love for Keenan and that door is not closed.”
While Allen just turned 34 in April, he’s spent 12 of his 13 NFL seasons with the Chargers. He was still productive last season, tallying 81 receptions for 777 yards and four touchdowns. The Chargers may prefer to find a better and less expensive long-term fit, but if the young guys aren’t cutting it, they could always turn back to Allen. Unless another team scoops him up first.
