Before the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett, they were already viewed as surefire playoff contenders. After all, they boast the NFL’s reigning MVP, the No. 1-ranked scoring offense, and a defense that ranked 10th in points allowed last season. Not to mention, Sean McVay is viewed as one of the best head coaches in the NFL today.

After trading for one of, if not the NFL’s best defender? Now the Rams are viewed as the NFC’s Super Bowl favorites.

But now one of the Rams’ key starters has been arrested on a felony charge.

According to ESPN’s Rams insider Sarah Barshop, left tackle Alaric Jackson was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Police Department alleges that the charge was for “a person who willfully inflicts corporal injury” against a spouse.

“Jackson thought the woman was recording him with her phone and allegedly tried to take the phone out of her hand.” According to NBC4, “investigators said the woman had scratch marks on her arms.”

Jackson had been booked at 4:24 a.m. He was released on a $50,000 bond three hours later.

Jackson had previously been sued by another woman who claimed he recorded her without consent during sex, refused to delete the video, and even taunted her with it.

The soon-to-be 28-year-old started 16 games for the Rams at left tackle last season. He signed a three-year, $57 million contract extension in 2024 and is signed through 2027.
