The Kansas City Chiefs were one of the most active teams in the National Football League this offseason, retooling the supporting cast around Patrick Mahomes. With training camp just a few months away, another move could be on the horizon.

Appearing on this weekend’s SportsCenter, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler named the Chiefs as a team to watch that could still add a wide receiver via NFL free agency.

The early Chiefs offseason moves primarily focused on retaining key pieces of the offense in addition to the signing of running back Kenneth Walker III. Now that the 2026 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror, free-agent signings no longer impact compensatory picks.

There are still a few pass-catching options available on the open market. Former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs stands out as the top option, especially with his legal troubles behind him. The club could also pursue someone like Deebo Samuel or Curtis Samuel, adding another underneath receiving threat to the Chiefs’ offense.

There’s also the possibility of a reunion with Tyreek Hill. However, he’s still working his way back from both an ACL tear and a dislocated kneecap. The 32-year-old already displayed signs of regression prior to the injury, so Kansas City would be taking on some risk if he signs once healthy.
