When you win back-to-back Super Bowls as the Kansas City Chiefs have, you wouldn’t think there would be many needs to fill. Yet, in the NFL, there are always weaknesses, just as there are strengths. That includes the league’s defending champs.

Top priorities undoubtedly revolve around retaining Chris Jones and deciding what to do with L’Jarius Sneed; both players are set for massive contract agreements. But the Chiefs also can’t ignore the potential upside of adding young, inexpensive talent through the 2024 NFL Draft.

Sitting at pick No. 32 in the first round, it can be tough to predict who may or may not be available, but just like last year, they can at least be prepared for a multitude of scenarios. There’s even one prospect who the Chiefs have reportedly grown attached to after their evaluations at the NFL Draft Combine.

Three years ago, after failing to reach the Super Bowl, we saw the Kansas City Chiefs completely overhaul their offensive line. They won’t need to make the same massive changes this offseason, but there is still more work to be done.

With starting left tackle Donovan Smith set for free agency, the Chiefs do have one pressing need. This area could very well be addressed in free agency again, but the Chiefs also have to worry about keeping costs down this offseason.

One alternative could be trying to land their top offensive line target in the draft, either by staying put at No. 32, or trading up, and there’s one player the Chiefs are reportedly already enamored with.

According to Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline, there was a lot of chatter about the Chiefs liking Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan during the NFL Scouting Combine.

Pauline’s report states that the Chiefs will “jump on” Morgan if he falls to pick No. 32, however, there’s also a good chance another team falls in love with the offensive tackle prospect. In that case, the NFL insider suggested the Chiefs could pivot to addressing their receiver needs instead, and there are several prospects worthy of a first-round selection.
