“Look good, feel good” is a motto many NFL players live by when it comes to their game day style. However, one Dallas Cowboys rookie learned the hard way that fashion-forward cleats might not be the best choice for practice.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters Friday that running back Jaydon Blue — who is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday against the New York Jets — suffered blisters during practice because of his Louis Vuitton Nikes.
“He went out there with some cool new cleats — Louis Vuitton Nikes. You should go get you a pair, but they give you blisters,” said Schottenheimer. “So about halfway through practice I saw him laying there, I was like, ‘What the hell happened to Blue?’ ‘Oh, coach, I’m fine. I have blisters.’ I was like, ‘Oh, shocker. Look at the cool shoes you got.'”
“That’s part of what you deal with in young players,” Schottenheimer added. “And he quickly changed his cleats and it’s amazing the blisters weren’t as bad.”
Jaydon Blue is expected to make his debut Sunday. Could see him work as a kick returner as well as backup to Javonte Williams. But Brian Schottenheimer said the rookie RB had a “little questionable decision,” Thursday. pic.twitter.com/26QRXnByah

Blue’s Path to NFL Debut
The Cowboys selected Blue in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Texas product rushed for 1,161 yards on 214 carries and 18 total touchdowns in his three years at Austin and has been inactive the first four weeks of the season. Javonte Williams has been the Cowboys’ lead back, rushing for 312 yards on 63 carries and four scores.
According to Schottenheimer, Blue could also see time as a kick returner in his debut.
The Cowboys are 1.5-point road favorites against the Jets.
