Just days into his Eagles stint, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown pulled up to his first public appearance and was very complimentary of his new QB with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts. In doing so, Brown pointed out the one area where he feels Hurts edges out his most recent QB, Patrick Mahomes.
“I’ve always been a fan of Jalen Hurts,” Brown said during an appearance on Speakeasy with former NFL players Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy, “When he came to Oklahoma was when I was coming into the league, and I was considering staying in school to play with him.”
Brown ended up declaring, but fast forward seven years, and the link-up finally happens—Hollywood catching passes from Hurts in Philly after inking a deal with the team earlier this week.
And it’s not like Brown hasn’t seen elite QB play before. He’s lined up with Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. Still, it’s Hurts’ deep ball that’s got him hyped.
Hollywood Brown Hypes Up Jalen Hurts’ Throwing Arm

“I personally feel like he’s one of the top vertical passers in the league,” Brown said. “His deep ball is great. … That’s attractive to a receiver. You know he’s putting it on the money. And on third down when it matters, money downs, he can make it happen however he’s gotta do it. It doesn’t matter how it looks, he’s gonna make it happen.”
It may not be overt, but it sure seems like Brown may be suggesting Hurts has a bigger arm than Mahomes. In Philly, Hollywood slots in as WR3 behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. But with trade buzz swirling around A.J. Brown, that pecking order might not stay locked for long.
At the end of the day, Hollywood didn’t turn his back on KC. He just bet on a new situation. And if Hurts keeps letting it fly deep as he promises, this Philly chapter could hit different for him.
