In a hilarious moment during an appearance on the New Heights podcast, New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston compared rookie Cam Skattebo’s personality to a beloved Disney character.
There weren’t high expectations for Arizona State standout Cam Skattebo heading into his first season in the NFL. While the NY Giants were hopeful about his potential, he was still a fourth-round pick set to play a backup role in 2025.
However, in camp and during the preseason, he impressed with his passion and toughness. Then, when the season began, the energy he brought and his style of play endeared him to his teammates and G-Men fans. The more opportunities he got, the more he proved he could be an impact player in his debut NFL season.
Unfortunately, fans only got him for eight games after a gruesome ankle injury ended his season in October against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nevertheless, in a short amount of time, he left a huge impression on the football world. That is why he came up during Jameis Winston’s Wednesday appearance on the New Heights podcast.
Jameis Winston Compares Cam Skattebo to Disney’s Stitch
When asked about his young teammate, for some reason, the 11-year veteran’s mind took him to an instance where he was watching the beloved Disney film, Lilo & Stitch. In the movie, the alien character of Stitch is one of the most wanted beings in the universe, and he escapes to Hawaii to avoid capture. There, he befriends a young girl named Lilo.
Stitch is a wild and energetic character, and Winston claims Skattebo’s personality is pretty similar. “That’s what Cam Skattebo is. He is from a football kingdom somewhere else. Somebody just dropped his crazy a** on Earth and said go run that pill,” he said.
Winston would then go on to tell a story where fellow rookie Jaxson Dart suggested to him and Russell Wilson that Skattebo is similar in size to Seattle Seahawks great Marshawn Lynch. While they are both listed as 5-foot-11 and 215, Winston recalled Wilson telling Dart that Lynch’s thigh is as big as Skattebo’s.
Either way, if Skattebo can be anywhere close for the NY Giants that Lynch was for Seattle, Big Blue fans would be overjoyed.
