Argentine police have reportedly arrested two members of the gang behind the home burglaries of Patrick Mahomes, Luka Doncic, and many other American sports stars.
Two years ago, a stunning trend emerged in the sports world. Notable athletes in leagues like the NFL and NBA were victims of home burglaries while they were away on road games. Kansas City Chiefs legends Mahomes and Travis Kelce were two of the early targets, as well as then-Dallas Mavericks superstar Doncic.
The stunning home invasions led to the NFL issuing an official security alert to its teams and players, and an FBI warning that a transnational gang was behind the bold crimes. Well, a major break in the case was made this week.
Two Chilean men arrested in connection with burglary gang

According to the Associated Press, police in Argentina arrested two Chilean citizens suspected of being members of the gang behind the burglaries. The arrests happened at a bus station in Buenos Aires, and the two individuals remain in custody awaiting extradition to the United States.
Millions in cash, jewelry, trophies, and medals were stolen from Mahomes, Kelce, Doncic, tennis star Juan Martín Del Potro, NBA veteran Mike Conley, and other star athletes.
The FBI claimed in 2024 that the burglary gang used public information and social media to track athletes’ travel habits. They then used technology to bypass alarm systems, block wireless internet connections, disable devices, and cover security cameras to hide their identities during the burglaries.
