We’ve reached the dog days of summer, where the bulk of the NFL offseason is already in the rearview mirror. Most of the best free agents have already signed new contracts. Yet, one of the NFL’s top free agents, Russell Wilson, has yet to find a new team for the 2026 season. He’s undoubtedly the best free agent quarterback available.
However, on Monday, the 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback and former Super Bowl winner finally found a new home.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, the team Wilson will be joining next will be CBS Sports as an analyst.
Wilson’s specific role with CBS will involve working on the network’s pregame show alongside James Brown, Nate Burleson, and Bill Cowher.
Wilson reportedly had one contract offer on the table from the New York Jets, but no other teams had been linked to the 37-year-old QB. At this point, Wilson was only looking at offers to be a backup QB, and it seems he preferred a healthier, safer life behind a TV desk rather than risking further injury.
Wilson had once been looked upon as a potential future Hall of Fame QB. But after leading his teams to the playoffs just once since 2020, his career spotlight had faded in recent years. If this is it, Wilson will end his career having played 14 seasons. Not bad for a former third-round pick.
