The New York Giants have a new head coach, and suddenly, everyone wants to come back to the team and play for the widely respected John Harbaugh. First, it was Odell Beckham Jr., who used his recent performance at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic to campaign for a chance to return to New York and catch passes from Jaxson Dart.
Now, another former Giants great is singing a similar tune, though unlike OBJ, he didn’t play in the flag football event, and he doesn’t play on offense either. But he still wants to play for the Giants again.
Specifically, on Tuesday, pass-rusher Jason Pierre-Paul took to social media for his campaign to return to New York.
“@nygiants I’m still available and ready to take on some OT’s and dominate in run-stop football the GIANTS WAY. Let’s make it happen, Giant Fans, Giant Nation Let’s go!! I know I know I know.”
Pierre-Paul being available doesn’t exactly come as a surprise at this stage of the offseason. The 37-year-old played in just three games last season for the Buccaneers, recording a pass deflection and no other stats. In 2024, he was out of the NFL entirely.
In other words, don’t expect the Giants to come kicking down JPP’s door any time soon, but we suppose granting a franchise icon a workout wouldn’t hurt. Pierre-Paul has won two Super Bowls in his career: one with the Giants and another with the Buccaneers. He also tallied 94.5 sacks in the process, but we don’t anticipate him getting the chance to add to those totals, simply because of his age.
