Heading into the offseason, finding a pass-rusher was one of the Buffalo Bills‘ goals for 2026. They’d been linked to elite solutions such as a Maxx Crosby trade or a Trey Hendrickson signing. Neither one came to fruition, but that didn’t stifle Bills president Brandon Beane’s plans.
On Wednesday, the Bills came to an agreement with two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Bradley Chubb, who had been playing for Buffalo’s AFC East rivals in Miami. Chubb is signing a three-year, $43.5 million contract in Buffalo. He’s also getting $29 million guaranteed, and the deal could push up to $52 million if certain performance thresholds are met.
Chubb, 29, arrived in the league as the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft with the Broncos. He’s coming off a season where he started all 17 games and tallied 8.5 sacks in Miami. Now he’ll join a talented bunch in Buffalo that always has Super Bowl expectations, and Chubb hopes to help them reach their goal.
Chubb has topped the 10-sack barrier twice. Once in his rookie season and again in 2023, before he missed all of 2024 with a torn ACL.
Yet, Chubb has already shown he can produce at a high level again after the major knee surgery, so he should hit the ground running in Buffalo too. After generating just 36 sacks as a team last season, Chubb should provide a big boost to Buffalo’s pass-rush.
