For the third season in a row, the Las Vegas Raiders are hunting for a new head coach. Antonio Pierce wasn’t the up-and-coming hotshot the Raiders were looking for. Pete Carroll wasn’t able to instill a culture in just one year’s time, finishing with one fewer win than Pierce did the year before.

This time, the Raiders plan to do it right. But of course, that was their goal the last few times too.

Internally, the Raiders are putting together a list of candidates they’d like to speak with. Externally, a betting favorite has already emerged.

Specifically, by way of DraftKings, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is the new betting favorite to become the next head coach of the Raiders, at odds of +175.

Flores and the Vikings appear to want to work out a new contract for him to remain as Minnesota’s defensive coordinator. Yet, a promotion to head coach in another city would likely take precedence.

Plus, the Raiders do have the Tom Brady connection working for them, with whom Brady is very familiar from their days together on the New England Patriots. There’s even been a rumor suggesting that the Raiders are hoping to hire Flores as the head coach while installing former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll as the offensive coordinator.

Of course, the Raiders are just beginning their coaching search, so the betting favorite could certainly change over the next few days and weeks.
