Tom Brady’s surprising claim that he is not rooting for either side in Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks has drawn the ire of some, including one of his former Pats teammates.

After retiring from the league in 2022, Brady took on a role as an on-air commentator for FOX’s NFL broadcasts. He also purchased a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024. It has led him to try to be as unbiased as possible in his new career and business endeavors.

That has ruffled some feathers among Patriots Nation. Since he is the greatest player in team history, after leading the franchise to nine Super Bowls and won six during 20 iconic seasons with the franchise. Well, he irked those fans again this week with his thoughts on the Big Game.

Despite the Patriots playing for another championship this Sunday, Brady told the Let’s Go! podcast, “Look, I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one. May the best team win.”

That has surprised many around the NFL and Patriots Nation, including former teammate Vince Wilfork. The five-time Pro Bowler was asked by WEEI 93.7 FM about Tom Brady’s recent comment, and the big man did not hold back his frustration with the legendary QB.

“That’s bullcrap, Tom. Come on now,” Wilfork said. “This ain’t political. The Raiders ain’t in it. Say what it is. What you see. At the end of the day, if you’re a Patriot for life you know what it is. Don’t give me that political bullcrap. If you don’t think we’re going to win, then pick Seattle, then. Don’t straddle the fence. Straight up.”

Heading into Sunday’s game, the Seahawks are a solid favorite over the Patriots on all the various gambling sites.
