Taylor Swift is excited for the upcoming NFL season as it will be the first full season since dating Travis Kelce, where she won’t be juggling a grueling tour schedule.
Having wrapped her record-breaking Eras Tour in December 2024, Swift is looking forward to a less chaotic period with more time to support Kelce at Kansas City Chiefs games. And more Chiefs games mean more screen time for the pop singer—every reaction to every play, plastered on the jumbotron.
The NFL is undoubtedly going to love that. Fans, actual football fans, maybe not so much.
“Taylor is really looking forward to the upcoming NFL season. Not just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, she’s not juggling a packed tour schedule,” a source close to the couple told People magazine.
“Her schedule is much more open now that the Eras Tour is wrapped and she’s genuinely excited to have the time and flexibility to show up for Travis more consistently,” the source added.
You can just hear Roger Goodell counting the money coming in as we speak. They love forcing this relationship on fans to help draw in casual observers.
Get Ready for the Taylor Swift Show
As Sportsnaut readers know, Kelce has opted to come back for another NFL season, foregoing retirement after a dreadful performance in Super Bowl LIX.
Kelce, who was contemplating riding off into the sunset with a three-peat, noticeably underperformed on the field for the game. The 10-time Pro Bowler had just four catches for 39 yards.
“I’m coming back, for sure,” Kelce told ESPN’s Pat McAfee. “Going to try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountain top.”
And guess what, folks, he and Taylor Swift are a package deal.
“Taylor plans to be at as many of his games as possible,” the source said, according to People. “They’ve both had such demanding schedules for so long, so having this stretch of time where things aren’t quite as chaotic feels like a welcome change.”
A welcome change would be if the NFL stopped focusing its broadcasts on the manufactured interest.

She Convinced Him to Come Back
It’s been reported that Taylor Swift helped Kelce make his retirement decision. And it involves some of the most absurd reasoning you’d expect from the pop star.
It’s utterly amazing that I’m even typing this. But Swift apparently has a favorite number—13. And Kelce will be competing in his 13th season in 2025.
“He has mentioned that he isn’t very superstitious, but he has discussed with Taylor that this year would be his 13th year in the NFL, her favorite number, and they have talked about how cool it would be for him to play this year, and if it were to be his last, how poetic that would be for them,” a source told the Daily Mail.
Making a career decision based on a favorite number seems about as entirely made up as the NFL fabricating interest in the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift romance in the first place.
Is he poised to make a big comeback? It sure seems like he’s determined and ready to work hard to improve upon last season. And Swift not being on tour may help. Some people in his camp suggested the jet-setting lifestyle was dragging his game down last season.
“Taylor and Travis have learned that so much attention on their relationship is not the best thing,” one person told US Weekly back in April.
“Travis wants to take [a breather] from the public eye,” that individual said. “He was working too much last year, and he didn’t play as well as he wanted.”
“He wants to have a good season and not have the focus be on his relationship with Taylor.”
Having her at more games isn’t exactly going to take the focus off. The NFL might have a dedicated camera pointed in her direction at all times if it could.
