Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has been in trade rumors for weeks, and the New England Patriots are in hot pursuit. Despite signing wide receiver Romeo Doubs, the Patriots are still interested in acquiring Brown from Philadelphia. Other teams, such as the Los Angles Rams, have been connected as well.

A trade for Brown likely won’t occur until after June 1 due to financial reasons, but talks could heat up as the 2026 NFL Draft approaches. In fact, Brown’s most likely landing spot has been revealed.

The Patriots are “by far the most likely” landing spot for Brown amid trade rumors, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on UNSPORTSMANLIKE. Despite rumors that New England and Philadelphia have a “gentlemen’s agreement,” the two organizations don’t have a pending deal for Brown at this time.

Brown has several connections to the Patriots with former Tennesseee Titans teammates and head coach Mike Vrabel. New England was also the star wide receiver’s favorite team growing up. All signs point toward the Patriots being the team for Brown, but it doens’t mean it will get done.

The Patriots and Eagles have been negotiating a potential trade for Brown over the last month, but nothing has come to fruition yet. Despite the 2026 NFL Draft coming in about one month, there is the possibility that both sides continue trade talks in June. If so, it could help each side finalize a deal.

New England should offer a 2027 first-round pick and a 2027 third-round pick if it wants to get a deal for Brown done this offseason. Philadelphia has been asking for a first-round pick and a second-round pick, but the Jaylen Waddle to Denver Broncos trade might have set the market for each organization.

There is the possibility that New England offers a 2028 draft pick instead of 2027, but it depends on what the Eagles want in return for their star wide receiver. It is clear the Patriots are the most realistic landing spot for Brown, and the two sides have to reach a middle ground to complete a deal.

The 2027 NFL Draft is expected to be very strong, so New England might be more incentivized to include a 2028 draft pick instead of two 2027 picks. There is a trade to be completed between both sides, but the possibility of talks breaking down is also realistic.

New England and Philadelphia aren’t in any rush to complete a trade for Brown, and talks could ramp up as June 1 gets closer. For now, both sides are in a waiting game, and a resolution for one of the NFL’s best wide receivers might not come until the summer.
