The deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term contract extensions came and went Wednesday afternoon.
While a couple players did indeed agree to extensions, the highest-profile figure did not. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will play under the franchise tag in 2020 after a long contract stalemate between the Pro Bowler and his team.
Prescott, 26, will earn $31.4 million this coming season before potentially hitting free agency in March. This comes after he tallied nearly 5,300 total yards with 33 total touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season.
Needless to say, the NFL world had its reactions to the two sides failing to come to terms on a long-term extension. It starts with Prescott’s brother.
