Long live Mike Glennon. A sentence we did not think would exist with the calendar set to hit 2020.
The veteran Oakland Raiders quarterback was inserted under center in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. He replaced an ineffective Derek Carr in a game that the Raiders found themselves down 34-3.
None of this is a typo. Carr was benched after completing 15-of-27 passes for 127 yards with this brutal pick-six.
At 6-4 on the season and in the midst of a three-game winning streak, most figured Oakland would make quick work of the three-win Jets.
That obviously has not happened and has the NFL world up in arms following the surprise benching of Mr. Carr.
