It’s looking more and more like the Washington Redskins will cease to exist in their current form here soon.

FedEx, the company in which the Redskins’ current stadium is named after, has demanded that the team change its name. This is a continuation of a long struggle from some within American society to force owner Daniel Snyder’s hands.

It’s more significant than previous pushes in that FedEx CEO Frederick Smith is a current minority owner of the Redskins.

Some might point to a term being bandied about, “cancel culture,” as this being another example of whitewashing history. Others firmly believe that the Redskins changing their name is long overdue.

Regardless, the opinions around the NFL world were seemingly largely in favor of the Redskins changing their name.
