Los Angeles Rams safety Eric Weddle announced his retirement on Thursday after 13 seasons in the NFL. A play-maker in the secondary who made highlight plays look routine and had a glorious beard, Weddle was beloved by fans and players throughout his career.

Weddle’s career began with the San Diego Chargers as a second-round draft pick in 2007. He quickly made his mark in the community and on the field, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2010.

A five-time All-Pro in his career with the Chargers, Weddle joined the Baltimore Ravens before the 2016 season and continued to play at a high level. Following three seasons in Baltimore, he returned home to California and finished his career with the Rams this past season.

As Weddle heads into retirement with a list of incredible accomplishments and an even more impressive beard, the NFL world celebrated his legacy and the glorious look he rocked for many years.
