NFL world blasts Bears’ Matt Nagy for horrible coaching on Thanksgiving

Things were not going too swimmingly for the Chicago Bears in their attempt to remain somewhat alive in the NFC Playoff race on Thanksgiving.

Taking on an injury-plagued Detroit Lions team led by undrafted rookie free agent David Blough, Chicago fell down 14-7 in the first half.

Head coach Matt Nagy then decided to go for it on fourth down and six from the Detroit 32 rather than kick a field goal with the struggling Eddy Pineiro.

The end result was disastrous. Mitchell Trubisky missed on the pass terribly. Heck, the Bears were called for illegal formation. That was declined, leading to first down for Detroit.

Given how much he’s under a microscope for the Bears’ struggles this season, Nagy was blasted by the NFL world over this awful decision.
