NFL teams make funny free-agency ‘announcements’ to skirt coronavirus-inspired policy

NFL Mock Draft 2020

The NFL has made it clear that teams cannot officially announce free-agency deals and trades until contracts are finalized, and due to the coronavirus pandemic that’s tricky.

Players can’t report to team facilities, and team doctors can’t travel to players, due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States. So, until physicals are done and players can actually finalize their deals, the league is stuck in limbo.

On Wednesday when the new league year became official, the Ravens took a businesslike approach, noting they would not be announcing deals until they had contracts done.

Other teams found a clever way around all this with some funny announcements.

This offseason is certainly different.
