NFL teams having a hard time setting up workouts with Lamar Jackson

Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson has a lot of pressure on his shoulders heading into college football Week 1

It’s completely understandable that NFL Draft prospects would prefer not paying an agent ahead of them collecting their first professional checks.

Though, agents themselves do a lot of work that these young men and their handlers can scarcely imagine. It seems that this is something former Heisman winner Lamar Jackson is dealing with. Currently without an agent, reports are surfacing that teams are having a hard time reaching Jackson for individual workouts ahead of next month’s draft.

It is possible that agents are pushing this narrative as a way to make Jackson look bad. That must be taken into account here. It’s also possible that Jackson is not receiving the best of advice from those close to him.

With some questioning Jackson’s ability to actually play quarterback at the next level, any red flags wouldn’t necessarily be a good look for the former Louisville standout. Deciding against running the 40-yard dash Thursday will also cause some debate.

As it is, a whole plethora of coaches and front office executives have taken to Kentucky for Louisville’s Pro Day on Thursday.

In a vacuum, that shows teams are definitely interested in the talented signal caller.
