The signing of veteran running back Danny Woodhead now makes more sense for the Baltimore Ravens. Fresh off news of the team adding that dynamic receiving threat to the mix, reports are now surfacing that Baltimore will lose young running back Kenneth Dixon for the first four games of the 2017 season after he violated the NFL’s policy against performance enhancing drugs.

Dixon, a fourth-round pick of the Ravens last year, was expected to be the team’s primary ball carrier this upcoming season. He saw more action as his rookie season came to a conclusion, eventually putting up an average of 4.3 yards per rush.
With Dixon now sidelined for the first quarter of the season, the combination of Woodhead and Terrance West will see the bulk of the action for Baltimore.
For his part, the former Louisiana Tech standout released a statement following the announcement of his suspension.

It’s definitely a bitter pill for Baltimore to swallow, but at least they were able to add a capable back to the mix in free agency.
