A Las Vegas Raiders insider believes the team would like to sign Los Angeles Rams legend Cooper Kupp. But only under one condition.
The Raiders have been active in the free agent market this month. They entered the offseason with a boatload of cash and have spent a solid bit of it. However, it has been pretty much all on the defensive side of the ball with additions like Jeremy Chinn and re-signing Malcolm Koonce. But they have yet to make big free agent additions on offense.
Yes, they did make a major trade for Seattle Seahawks two-time Pro Bowler Geno Smith. But if they hope to be better on offense in 2025, they need to improve the weapons around him. And they still have just over $41 million in money to spend (via Over The Cap). Well, it seems there is a notable player they want to use some of it on. But there is a caveat.

Las Vegas Raiders interested in Cooper Kupp, but at a bargain rate

“The Raiders would have interest if the price is right [in Copper Kupp], per sources, but it’s hard to see Kupp taking a discount to join a franchise in flux,” The Athletic Raiders insider Tashan Reed claimed this week.
Kupp made $15 million in 2024. And he is expected to earn around $11 million in free agency this offseason, according to Spotrac. Reed must be under the impression the Raiders want to pay the Rams great less than $10 million per season.
- Cooper Kupp stats (2024): 67 receptions, 710 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns, 10.6 yards per catch
Injuries have limited him greatly since earning Pro Bowl honors during LA’s championship season in 2021. However, when he is on the field he is still an impact player. In 2024, he still posted 710 receiving yards and six touchdowns in just 11 starts last year. He would certainly be a big help for Geno Smith in his first season.
But Kupp is expected to have a good amount of interest on the free agent market this month. It means he might end up being out of the price range the Raiders view him at.
