NFL decision on Antonio Brown still at least few weeks away

Antonio Brown sign Patriots

The NFL won’t be reinstating Antonio Brown any time soon, as Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reports any decision on his potential reinstatement is still weeks away.

Appearing on Fox’s pre-game show Sunday morning, Glazer broke down why it’s taking so long for the NFL to make a decision on Brown.

Glazer reports that the eight-hour meeting Brown had with the NFL opened up a whole other avenue of questions the league needs answers to. So, until those questions are addressed, the entire process is tied up.

The NFL insider also reported that any team interested in signing Brown — yes, there are a few — likely won’t until the investigation is complete. Should they sign him and the NFL place Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list, then he’d be stuck on their roster and would receive pay regardless of his status on game days.

Brown recently apologized to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft for “bad media and the drama” that he generated during his short stint with the franchise. New England cut Brown after less than two weeks after he was found to have threatened a woman who alleges he acted improperly toward her in a sexual manner.

He is also accused of multiple instances of sexual assault by another woman.

Prior to signing with the Patriots, Brown spent some of his summer with the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately, his tenure in Oakland was defined by his absences and quirky behavior, rather than any contributions, and he was cut by the Raiders.
