How could the NFL possibly screw up the biggest game on the league’s calendar? Well, we found out first-hand on Wednesday.
The league announced that the controversial Bill Vinovich will act as the head official for Super Bowl LIV. This is not a drill. It’s happening, and it’s absolutely pathetic.
As most of you will know, Vinovich was the official responsible for the now-infamous non-call in the 2019 NFC Championship Game between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Rams.
Said non-call on a blatant pass interference by Nickell Robey-Coleman led to the Rams earning a trip in the Super Bowl over New Orleans. It also led to the league opting to review pass interference penalties. That has not gone too swimmingly, either.
