Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. fanned the flames of an eventual move to the New York Yankees with an interesting decision on social this week.
There is a whole bunch of excitement surrounding the Yankees with spring training now underway. Yes, they lost MVP candidate Juan Soto to the New York Mets this offseason. However, they made a slew of moves in response that have some believing they are a better team now than they were in October.

Nevertheless, Soto’s departure leaves a huge stats void. The club is hoping the combined numbers of former NL MVPs Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt, and prospect Jasson Dominguez can make up the difference. However, finding a player with similar stats to hit in front of or behind reigning MVP Aaron Judge in the future would be preferred.
That is why the New York Yankees have been linked to Vladimir Guerrero for years. And those rumblings grew louder this week when it was revealed that he and the Blue Jays again failed to come to terms on a new long-term extension. Furthermore, Guerrero added fuel to the speculation with an interesting move on social media this week.

Vladimir Guerrero likes a post of him in a New York Yankees uniform
On Thursday, with buzz growing about a jump into free agency and move to New York, the Lets Go Yanks_ social account posted a picture of Vladimir Guerrero in a Yankees uniform. The Instagram post of course garnered a lot of interest.
However, Bleacher Report’s baseball social media account noticed that one of the likes on the picture was from Guerrero. Does it mean anything? Probably not. Does Guerrero know liking the post would create headlines? Maybe.

It is all the more interesting because the 25-year-old has previously claimed he has zero interest in playing for the Yankees. Liking a picture of himself in one of their uniforms certainly seems like a major change of heart months away from free agency.
