New Video of Ray Rice Incident Emerges

This might not be as damning as the video TMZ released earlier this year that showed former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocking his now wife, Janay Rice, unconscious in a casino elevator. That original video led to the Ravens releasing Rice and the NFL suspending him indefinitely.

It’s also set into motion a series of events that has since placed the National Football League under the scrutiny of the general public.

This new video, which was released by ABC News, shows how both Ray Rice and his then fiancee reacted following the drama that occurred in the elevator back in February.

Originally 45 minutes, ABC News condensed this video down to less than three minutes. Both parties were originally arrested and led out of the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The charges were quickly dropped against Janay Rice.

Ray attempted to communicate with Janay during the process, but he was held back by security officers at the scene. Eventually, the couple would end up communicating in the elevator prior o being led out of the casino.

Here’s part of the report from ABC News.

Palmer is seen physically pushing Rice away from her when he approached her immediately after the incident. Palmer was then protected by hotel security guards as Rice attempted to move closer.

The video then shows Palmer going through something of an emotional evolution in the middle of the night. Almost immediately after the assault, she appears angry. Soon after, Palmer begins to cry. And by the time she and Rice are both escorted into an elevator — handcuffed — she appears to kiss and nuzzle the one-time NFL star.

The former Ravens running back won his appeal against the National Football League the day after Thanksgiving and is free to sign with any team. However, it’s highly unlikely that he’s going to be picked up.

It remains to be seen how this video will impact Rice’s wrongful termination lawsuit against the Baltimore Ravens.
