The Brooklyn Nets are feeling confident about their ability to bring in a trio of stars when NBA free agency opens up.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, there is an “undeniable vibe of confidence” emanating from Brooklyn as the team seems to believe it is going to sign Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan.
The Irving-to-Brooklyn hype has been going strong for weeks now, and it’s previously been reported that Durant and Irving have been discussing the idea of playing with one another ever since they played together on the United States Men’s National team.
Jordan, as Stein noted, is a close friend and would provide a strong defensive presence inside if he also joined the Nets.
However, the Golden State Warriors will have something to say about all this, as they are reportedly set to offer Durant a five-year deal worth $57 million more than any other team can offer once free agency opens up.
There have also been reports that Durant would prefer to play for the New York Knicks over Brooklyn.
We’ll all know where he signs soon enough. Durant is set to make an announcement on an Instagram account Sunday night. That indicates he already knows what he wants to do, so stay tuned.
