NetsGC became the first team to five wins in the NBA 2K League’s The Turn event, beating Hornets Venom GT on Wednesday to widen their lead in the Eastern Conference.

Tariq “Greens” Reed had a monster game in the Nets’ 75-66 win, scoring 36 points and hitting half his 12 attempts from beyond the arc while adding seven assists to help his team advance to 5-0. No other team in the East has more than three wins, with NBL Oz Gaming the Nets’ closest competitor at 3-1.

The Western Conference, on the other hand, has a trio of teams at 4-0 after Pistons GT caught Bucks Gaming and Warriors Gaming Squad atop the standings with Wednesday’s 90-53 blowout of Jazz Gaming. Anthony “ANT” Costanzo had a huge game, scoring 42 points and adding 15 assists — tops among all players across the league in both categories on the night.

The NBA 2K League 5v5 season will include three tournaments — The Tipoff, The Turn and The Ticket — that will set the field for the playoffs, scheduled for Aug. 2-5 in Washington. 76ers GC defeated T-Wolves Gaming to claim The Tipoff earlier in June.

Remote group play in The Turn will establish the bracket for remote bracket play. The event will conclude with in-person tournament play at District E in Washington in late July.

On the other side of the standings, Kings Guard Gaming is the only winless team remaining in The Turn as Mavs Gaming and Hawks Talon GC both got their first wins of the event.

Kenneth Grant “KennyZeus” Strombeck led the Mavs with 27 points and nine assists in a 60-42 win over Grizz Gaming while the Hawks had three players score at least 19 points in a 74-64 win over Celtics Crossover Gaming. Caesar “ceez” Martinez led the Hawks with 24 points and Samuel “Gradient” Salyers added 20. Leche “Leche” Jamous led all players with 33 points for the Celtics but didn’t get enough help in scoring more than half his team’s total points.

The night was particularly cruel to the Jazz, who followed the drubbing at the hands of the Pistons with a 71-49 loss against DUX Infinitos. Brian “Killeyy” Diaz and Zach “Vandi” Vandivier each had 24 points and six assists in the win, while Mykel “Kel” Wilson scored 13 points for the Jazz after scoring a team-high 20 against the Pistons.

In other action Wednesday, 76ers GC beat Knicks Gaming 76-69 before T-Wolves Gaming ended the evening with a 74-66 win over the Mavs.
