Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift made headlines following their visit to the Rocket Arena on Saturday for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Grammy award-winning singer has been a Knicks fan for a long time. Swift used to frequent New York’s games in the mid-2010s.
However, NFL star Kelce, is a die-hard Cavaliers fan. He was born and raised in Ohio and has been supporting the Cavs for a long time too.
On the Wednesday episode of the “New Heights” podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs star shared his candid thoughts on Taylor Swift’s ties to the Knicks after a resurfaced image of his singer girlfriend with former New York players Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire from 2014 went viral.
“Not a lot of teams have been able to get Taylor to wear a jersey, and the Knicks did,” Kelce said.
“Tay’s got a lot of New York ties, so when it came down to like going to the Cavs game, she was kinda like, ‘Oh nice, they’re playing the Knicks, like sweet! I’ve seen them play before.'”
Kelce’s and Swift’s visit to Game 3 ended in delight for the pop star as the Knicks secured a 121-108 win over the Cavaliers at their home. New York eventually went on to win Game 4 on Monday to complete the sweep and punch their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are one of the power couples in the sports world. Last year, they announced their decision to get married in a combined Instagram post. According to Page Six, the save-the-dates for the wedding have already been sent out, but the location still remains unknown.
