A new NBA rumor reveals some big red flags for teams like the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, and other teams who might be considering a Trae Young trade in the next few weeks.
Trade season officially opened up a couple of weeks ago and rumors about potential deals continue to intensify as we get closer to the February trade deadline. One star’s name who is coming up in rumblings a lot more recently is the Atlanta Hawks great.
The four-time All-Star has been linked to trade rumors over the last couple of years, but the speculation is as loud as ever. The reason why is the emergence of several young players on the Hawks roster, but specificially Jalen Johnson. He has shown this season that the organization should consider moving Young since he can opt out of his current contract after the season.
Considering his skills, and the fact that teams like Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, and Miami Heat need impact scoring from the backcourt, the Hawks should be able to create a bidding war for Young on the trade market. However, that may not be the case based on a new report about the star guard.
ATL Hawks Players Don’t Like Playing With Trae Young?

“It’s hard to think of a team that’s trying to win this season that Trae would help. Especially, once you factor in what that team would be losing to match salary. He doesn’t defend, he doesn’t rebound, guys hate playing with him,” a league source told NBA insider Ryen Russilo.
Young didn’t become a star in ATL and around the league because of his defense or rebounding. He is a highly talented scorer who has excelled in high pressure, clutch moments. However, a belief that teammates dislike playing with him is worrisome.
The fact that the Hawks played better than expected in the month and a half when he was away, and they have lost all five games since he returned on December 18 won’t quiet the claim that teammates don’t like playing with him.
