The Sacramento Kings hold the seventh overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, putting them in a strong position to land a top point guard. While there have been persistent NBA Draft rumors connecting Sacramento to one prospect, there is another guard who is clearly on the team’s radar.

Matt George of ABC 10 and Locked on Kings reported that general manager Scott Perry recently met with the family of Houston point guard Kingston Flemings. The visit took place this weekend in San Antonio.

  • Kingston Flemings stats (ESPN): 16.1 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.5 SPG, 47.6% FG, 1.1 3PM per game, 38.7% 3PT

Flemings, a 6-foot-4 point guard, made the Big 12 All-Freshman Team this past season and earned second-team All-American honors. He is entering the NBA Draft at 19 years old and will not turn 20 until midway through his rookie season in the NBA.

Among consensus 2026 NBA Draft prospect rankings, ESPN’s Jeremy Woo rated Flemings as the eighth-best player and the fourth-best pure point guard. Back in May, The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie had Sacramento landing Flemings with the seventh overall pick in his 2026 NBA Draft mock, viewing him as a fitting De’Aaron Fox replacement because of his speed.

“Teams have also raved about Flemings in interviews, with the intangible piece likely to help his case in a guard-heavy lottery.”

Sacramento is also reportedly high on Arkansas Razorbacks point guard Darius Acuff Jr. A meeting with his family is presumably going to happen, especially since his father played under Perry when he was a coach at Eastern Kentucky.

What is evident in the weeks leading up to the 2026 NBA Draft is that the Kings are heavily invested in evaluating the top point guards. For now, Flemings and Acuff seem to be the primary targets, but Louisville’s Mikel Brown Jr. could enter the mix.
