It took a while, but the Phoenix Suns finally found a trade partner for Kevin Durant, sending him to the Houston Rockets. Yet, the Suns’ trade still leaves some questions unanswered.

Like, what are the Suns’ plans with Jalen Green? After all, now their franchise cornerstones consist of Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Green, a trio of players whose best position is shooting guard.

While Beal trade rumors have dated back to last year. Meanwhile, Booker is the team’s franchise player; he’s not going anywhere. But what about Green, who only just arrived?

According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports’ 98.7 FM, the Suns have no plans to trade Green. Previous reports suggested the Suns had been kicking around trade ideas for Green, gauging his value, just in case they did land him via trade.

If so, it gives Green a chance to flourish in Phoenix next to Booker, giving them two scorers who have averaged 20 or more points per game in their careers. Yet, until or unless the Suns find a better point guard capable of distributing to their top scorers, it’s hard to imagine how this would better set Phoenix up for success.

However, gaining the extra assets from the Durant trade, which includes the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, could help the Suns build a stronger overall roster around their new-look core.
