While the New York Knicks can’t stop the absurd price gauging for NBA Finals tickets on resale markets, the organization is set to give hundreds of deserving fans tickets for free.

According to the New York Post, the Knicks are donating hundreds of tickets to underserved New York families affiliated with their Garden of Dreams Foundation. The tickets will be for Games 3, 4, and 6 at Madison Square Garden. With 250 seats getting handed out to each game.

Tickets to Knicks games at MSG have been pricey for a couple of decades. However, it has been even more expensive for games during the 2026 playoffs. Furthermore, the prices have been rising as the team has made its impressive run through the Eastern Conference and into this year’s Finals.

On Tuesday, a new report from third-party ticket platform Tick Pick revealed the current get-in price for Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals is $3,745. Seats for Game 4 are starting at $3,464. They are now the most expensive basic ticket for a Finals game ever.

Get-in tickets are considered the cheapest on the ticket market. So if they are that high, one can only imagine what the prices are for seats on or near the court.

While many diehard Knicks fans won’t be able to afford tickets to see them in the Finals for the first time since 1999, at least the organization saw fit to give some needy families a rare sports opportunity in June.
