Each offseason, the Miami Heat are one of a select few linked to the biggest stars on and off the market. Yet, we haven’t seen the Heat acquire any stars.

They’ve instead been busy re-signing some of their own, by inking Davion Mitchell and two-way player Vlad Goldin to new contracts while being rumored to have interest in several others, such as Jonathan Kuminga.

Yet, the next move the Heat make could involve getting some assets back for another one of their own. Specifically, according to Anthony Chiang and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Duncan Robinson likely won’t be returning to Miami for an eighth season with the Heat.

In fact, the Heat are expected to execute a sign-and-trade that sends Robinson to a new team in exchange for various assets. The Detroit Pistons are one team that has been linked to Robinson thus far, and they could still be in play.

Robinson just turned 31 years old in April, but he’s coming off a season in which he sank 39.3% of his 3-point shots. That level of accuracy from long distance makes him an attractive piece for any team looking to improve their perimeter shooting next season.
