After suffering a frightening injury on Friday night and being taken off the court on a stretcher, Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms.

The Celtics announced that Walker is headed to a nearby hospital to undergo further testing on his neck and the team will provide details when appropriate.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that early indications are Walker avoided a severe neck injury.

It’s positive news after the entire NBA world was left holding its breath following the scary collision. Walker is not only an All-Star point guard, he’s also one of the most respected and liked players in the league.
