LA Lakers head coach JJ Redick has explained why the franchise needs to let Luka Doncic explore his creative side on the court. The five-time All-Star is one of the most offensively gifted players in the NBA.
However, he sometimes takes certain risks on the floor that do not pay off. In those situations, he could have made a pass or gone for a better play to secure a point for the team. But when the risks pay off, it is an instant highlight reel material.
As such, Redick believes that Doncic needs to have increased support and creative freedom to take more risks on the court and his Purple and Gold teammates should live with it.

“You have to be willing to live with the stuff that he tries,” Redick said in his postgame presser. “There’s that creative element that he needs to thrive, and you gotta allow that.”
Luka Doncic dropped a stunning performance in the Lakers’ 129-118 win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday. He scored 46 points to secure the win and make history by becoming the fastest (65 games) Laker ever to reach 2,000 points.
The Slovenian star surpassed George Miikan, who achieved the same in 72 games, to claim the record. He is now averaging 33.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game on 47.1% shooting this season.
Furthermore, Doncic also earned the Western Conference Player of the Week honor after he put out stunning performances for the Lakers. The point guard has scored more than 30+ points in his last four games.
