JJ Redick

The New Orleans Pelicans were stealth-like in their pursuit of a shooter.

When free agency officially opened Sunday evening, New Orleans added veteran J.J. Redick from the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year deal worth a more $26.5 million.

Redick had not been linked to New Orleans prior to the start of free agency. Most figured he was going to re-sign with Philadelphia.

One of the better three-point shooters of his generation, Redick has connected on 40-plus percent of his shots from behind the arc in each of the past six seasons.

He’s going to be a tremendous fit with a young Pelicans core group that already includes Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Jrue Holiday.
