A new report claims a pair of All-Star-level scorers are potential trade targets for the Detroit Pistons in the next few weeks.

After a major leap forward in the 2024-25 season, the Pistons showed even more development in 2025-26. They were the only team in the Eastern Conference that won 60 or more games and held down the No. 1 spot in the playoff chase all year. Yet, despite the growth and a big breakout year for Jalen Duren, Detroit struggled in the playoffs.

They had to come back from the brink of elimination in Round 1 versus the Orlando Magic. Then blew a series lead and fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the semifinals. Duren’s disappointing showing put a bright spotlight on the fact that the Pistons badly need more offensive punch if they hope to compete with the champion New York Knicks and the other elites in the NBA.

In the last few weeks, Detroit has been linked to potential trades for future Hall of Famer Kyrie Irving and New Orleans Pelicans sharpshooter Trey Murphy III. However, two new names have emerged in a Friday morning report from Marc Stein.

Zach LaVine and Tyler Herro are potential targets for the Detroit Pistons

According to the NBA insider, the Pistons are “aggressively exploring its options” to add an impact scorer to the roster. One name that’s on their radar is Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro. And interestingly enough, it would not be via a straight swap with Miami. Stein claims Detroit could land the one-time All-Star by being a facilitator in the long-rumored deal that would send Milwaukee Bucks icon Giannis Antetokounmpo to South Beach.

Stein also adds that Detroit is allegedly open to a trade for a player that was viewed as untradable a couple of years ago, and that is Sacramento Kings swingman Zach LaVine. The two-time All-Star’s years-long injury woes and $215 million contract made him a tough sell in trade discussions over the last few seasons. However, Stein claims the Pistons could consider a trade because he only has one year and $48.9 million left on the deal.

LaVine played in just 39 games this season. Averaging 19.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and shot 39% from three.
