Former Alabama Crimson Tide forward Brandon Miller will find himself as either the second or third pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft. In fact, things seem to be trending in the direction of the former top-11 recruit heading to the Charlotte Hornets at two.
Taking part in the pre-draft media day from New York on Wednesday, Miller was asked to weigh in on the greatest of all-time debate involving Michael Jordan and LeBron James.
His response was unfathomable and likely led to many spitting out their drinks on keyboards across the basketball world.
“I actually don’t think LeBron is the GOAT of basketball. My GOAT of basketball is Paul George,” Brandon Miller told reporters.
What are we even doing here? Is he talking about the very same Paul George who the Los Angeles Clippers currently have on the trade block? The Paul George who has played in 87 games over the past two seasons? The Paul George who has not won an NBA title since entering the league back in 2010?

Not to knock PG-13 too much, but this is absolute craziness. We understand he’s young. But if you’re not going to go with Jordan or LeBron, there are other options out there outside of George. You know? Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Kobe Bryant. Yeah, those Hall of Famers.
We are now intrigued to see King James go up against Miller for the first time next season. A 50-point triple-double could be in the cards to humble the young man.
