The Los Angeles Lakers have had some time to free their mind from the second-round loss sweep to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and hopefully, they’re enjoying the offseason. Austin Reaves looks like he may be one of the players really enjoying it, and he has a new hairstyle while doing so.
Recently, Reaves was seen in a photo rocking a buzz cut, which is not his typical hairstyle.
The photo of the Lakers player which was shared on social media, showed Austin Reaves together with girlfriend Jenna Barber on his 28th birthday on Thursday with a cake, as they smiled and posed for the camera.
It will be interesting to see if Reaves will be rocking the style for the time being or if this would become a permanent look for the point guard.
LA Lakers fans are probably hoping that he’s rocking whatever style he has in a Lakers jersey for years to come, as he’s set to be a free agent this offseason. All signs point to the franchise wanting to bring Reaves back, but it will most likely depend on how much they’re going to offer him.
If Reaves doesn’t like the offer, there are teams who will look to offer him what he wants, and the Brooklyn Nets were the latest team rumored to have interest, according to journalist Tim Bontemps.
“One potential bidder to watch this summer, sources said, is the Brooklyn Nets, who will enter the offseason with more than enough salary cap space to accommodate a max-type player,” Bontemps wrote on May 28.
However, if Reaves cares about winning, going back to the Lakers might be his best bet yet. They showed what they could do when everyone is healthy, and running it back with the big 3 of Reaves, Luka Doncic and LeBron James wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Nonetheless, it remains to be seen what the Lakers do this offseason and how they plan on improving the team overall.
