Draymond Green shared an update on the current injury status of Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors star backed the 38-year-old’s desire to return to the court.
Green then went against the rumors suggesting the Warriors were shutting down Curry for the season.
During Monday’s episode of the “Draymond Green Podcast,” he stated that Curry is trying his best to get back on the court as soon as he can.
“What I will tell you is, I don’t think Steph is getting shut down for the season. I do know that Steph is doing all that he can to get back. I do know that he’s progressing well on the court,” Green said.
“And I I do know that he’s very, very eager to get back out there. And what I can assure is whether it’s 1 regular-season game, or 5 regular-season games. Steph wants to play. And he’s going to do all that he can, he’s been doing all that he can and things are really looking up.”
Stephen Curry has been going through injury troubles this season. He is out right now with a runner’s knee. He has played 39 games this season with an average 31.3 minutes on the floor.
This season, the 12-time NBA All-Star is averaging 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game on 46.8% shooting.
The Golden State Warriors (36-39) are in 10th place in the very competitive Western Conference standings. But they have managed to secure a spot in the play-in tournament despite losing both Curry and Jimmy Butler to injury.
