NBA trade rumors: Lonzo Ball prefers trade to the Bulls or Knicks

Injured Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball has been the talk of the NBA’s trade circuit over the past several days.

Sidelined until at least March with an ankle injury, a recent reports suggested that the Lakers could move on from Ball in short order. That was taken to a whole new level when New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis demanded a trade earlier in the week.

Even if he doesn’t want to play for the Pelicans, Ball would likely be one of the centerpeices headed to New Orleans in any deal that brings Davis to Southern California.

According to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, Ball prefers a third team to get involved should he be dealt. Said report also concluded that he’s looking at the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls as potential landing spots.

Both teams make sense in that they’re in the beginning stages of a rebuild. Still only 21 years old, Ball is highly regarded as a young point guard around the Association.

At issue here is who Chicago or New York would deal to the Pelicans in order to bring Ball in. Neither team has a whole bunch of assets to offer up.
