With nine games taking place around the NBA on Sunday, there were several opportunities for stars to steal the show. Leave it to Damian Lillard to sweep the nation late at night in the Portland Trail Blazers’ big win over the Houston Rockets.
While the Rockets are far from one of the best teams in basketball, sitting at 13-46, ranking 25th in points allowed, Lillard’s best game of his career cannot be taken lightly.
Dame Time got hot from the start, and he never really cooled off, finishing with an astronomical 71 points. In doing so, Lillard became just the seventh player in NBA history to score 70 or more points in a single game.

Despite the Rockets taking 23 more shots than the Blazers, they scored just 114 points. Meanwhile, Lillard scored a total of 54% of his team’s 131 points.
