The Washington Nationals used to be the Montreal Expos, and on July 6, they’ll give a tip of the cap to that bit of history by wearing throwback baby blue Expos uniforms.

The team announced the news on Wednesday morning.

The team is going all out, with the uniforms being just one part of the celebration, per the team’s official announcement on MLB.com:

“Lloyd Dobler Effect will play hit songs from the 1960s on the Budweiser Terrace 2:00-3:30pm, and fans can enjoy special Quebec fare, including a Montreal smoked meat sandwich at Steak of the Union in sections 117 and 133 and Steak and Sausage in section 308, poutine at Change Up Chicken in sections 110, 130 and 301, and a steamé hot dog at Taste of the Majors in section 116 and 313.”

It should be a blast for all who attend.

However, the timing of this is pretty interesting, as the Tampa Bay Rays have recently been given permission by MLB to explore the possibility of playing half their regular-season games in Montreal.
